I'm a freelance designer based in South Canterbury, specialising in branding and wedding stationery for people who appreciate thoughtful design and meaningful details.

Studio EMDM was created from a love of beautiful aesthetics, storytelling, and the belief that good design should feel as good as it looks. Whether I'm creating a brand identity for a growing business or designing stationery for a once-in-a-lifetime celebration, my goal is always the same ~ to create something that feels authentic, memorable, and uniquely yours.​

 

My love for design started long before Studio EMDM. As a 90s kid, I spent countless hours creating masterpieces in Microsoft Paint before graduating to WordArt in Publisher, which at the time felt like the height of design sophistication. That interest evolved into studying Visual Art Design in my final year of high school, where I created a portfolio focused on Alzheimer's awareness titled Forget Me Not. After a career change, a Certificate in Digital Media and Design, years of saving inspiration I probably didn't need, and plenty of "can you help me design this?" requests from friends, I finally took the leap into freelancing.

I’m drawn to the details that often go unnoticed, the texture of paper, the perfect typeface pairing, and the subtle elements that bring a design together. These are the things that transform something from simply looking good into feeling considered and personal.

My style leans towards refined, timeless design with a thoughtful balance of creativity and practicality. I love working with businesses, couples, and individuals who value quality, trust the process, and aren't afraid to do things a little differently.
